Erasmus+ is the EU's new programme for boosting skills and employability through education, training, youth , and sport.
Between 2014-2020 the programme will provide opportunities for over 4 million Europeans to study, train, gain work experience , and volunteer abroad.
Erasmus+ aims to modernise and improve higher education across Europe and the rest of the world.
It gives students and staff opportunities to develop their skills and boost their employment prospects. Good practices will be shared between universities and businesses in Knowledge Alliances.
Higher education institutions from participating countries can work with those from neighbourhood countries, non-EU Balkan countries, Asia, Africa and Latin America to develop their educational systems.
Opportunities for students to learn abroad, including:
Studies, including at Master's level
Students can go abroad for 3 to 12 months (including a complementary traineeship period, if planned). The same student may receive grants for studying or being trained abroad totalling up to 12 months maximum per each cycle of study
Traineeships in businesses
Students may go abroad from 2 to 12 months. The same student may receive grants for studying or being trained abroad totalling up to 12 months maximum per cycle of study.

Training or teaching (Staff mobility for Teaching or Training)
Erasmus+ provides teaching opportunities for the teaching staff of higher education institutions and staff invited from enterprises. Training opportunities are also available for teaching and non-teaching staff employed in a higher education institution.
