Visa

For key information about the visa procedure, please check the website of the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic here (sections 2 - 12).

For a more digestable version, you can also read through the overview here.

Please note that the processing of a visa application can take up to 60 days (with the legal limit being 90 days), so make sure to schedule your appointment at the Czech Embasy in your country well in advance.

List of Czech embassies abroad can be found here.

VŠFS can provide you with the letter of acceptance in the Czech language that proves the purposes of your stay. Students staying in VŠFS dormitories can also receive proof of accommodation from VŠFS.

The originals of the aforementioned documents need to be delivered to your hands prior to the date of your visa appointment. To arrange the delivery of the documents, please contact the VŠFS International Team at erasmus@vsfs.cz

Do not forget to inform the Czech Ministry of Interior about your arrival within 3 working days. To familiarise yourself with the obligations upon arrival, please read the "Information for students" document available here.

Permanent Residency for Foreigners

Medical Care

VŠFS does not have at its disposal any contractual medical care providing facility. VŠFS students are provided medical care on the same basis as any other citizen of the Czech Republic. Students of VŠFS can go to any students´ health centre, e.g. the Students´ Health Centre at no. 12, Spálená Street, 110 00 Prague 1 (phone number 224 949 035). This Students´ Health Centre, which has contracts with all insurance companies in the Czech Republic, provides preventive, diagnostic and curative care to all undergraduates.

Prague has several clinics providing health care for English-speaking clients that can provide a network of services from basic medical examination to accompanying a patient to the hospital. Please note, however, that these are usually commercial organizations that may charge a high fee. We recommend keeping the receipts for any payments so that you can apply for reimbursement from your home insurance company since such costs are not refundable within the Czech Republic. The institutions are as follows: (Please note this list is not exhaustive, other clinics may exist.)
