He graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University, where he also completed postgraduate studies. He habilitated at the Faculty of Operational Economics of the Czech University of Life Sciences. He currently works as the head of the Department of Informatics and Mathematics at the Faculty of Economic Studies of the University of Finance and Administration. In the Applied Informatics field, he teaches courses in the areas of programming and blockchain. In 2015, he introduced the Cryptocurrency Technology course. In 2024, he received accreditation for the follow-up Master's degree program Financial Informatics and Blockchain. He translated the first edition of the book Mastering Bitcoin, written by Andreas M. Antonopoulos, into Czech. He is the author of the professional monograph Cryptocurrencies, which he defended as his habilitation thesis. He is also the author of a number of articles on the issue of cryptocurrencies, published in scientific journals. His formal definition of cryptocurrency can be found on the English Wikipedia.
