The aim of the doctoral study programme of Finance is to prepare its students for mastering general methodology of scientific work and to equip them with professional knowledge, skills and abilities in the area of financial markets and institutions, which would help them to develop their original creative procedures, do research and constantly publish their work. This all will be reflected in the original and innovative disseration.

The standard period of study is 3 years.

Study Plan of the Doctoral Study

  1. The Study Plan specifies conditions which need to be met by a student of the respective study programme in the course of his/her study, and at its due completion.
  2. The Study Plan is developed by the student under the guidance of his/her tutor at the beginning of his/her study.
  3. The Study Plan will contain a list of subjects of the doctoral study programme (distinguishing compulsory from elective subjects, and specifying the elective subject that will form a part of the state final doctoral exam),  scheduled exam dates, draft topic and schedule of the dissertation, framework dates of the state doctoral exam and dissertation defence.
  4. The Study Plan also consists of the following:
    1. publishing of at least two articles in journals with peer review, related to the topic of the dissertation ( we recommend publishing one of these article in a journal registered in the Web of Science or Scopus database.  In case of joint authorship of the article the doctoral student has to be the first (corresponding) author with the contribution of at least 50%, only author shares are included in the publishing activity,
    2. at least two conference performances - publishing a paper focused on the dissertation topic,
    3. engagement in research, mainly of the school workplace, with documented outputs (engagement in projects, publications, reviews, etc.), including international research activities of a postgraduate student based on the accreditation requirements,
    4. presenting  research results at a discussion seminar of postgraduate students or at a conference of postgraduate students at VŠFS at least twice in the course of study,
    5. teaching, in the case of a daily form of study.
  5. The Study Plan will be met by a student under the guidance of his/her tutor.
