Applied Informatics

The aim of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Applied Informatics is to educate IT specialists capable of successful performance in practice. Applied Informatics is a promising field both in the Czech Republic and in the world, and there has been a high demand for workers from among its graduates, with the highest starting salaries. Application-oriented studies in informatics combine high-quality theoretical knowledge education with practical skills. The Bachelor’s degree programme in Applied Informatics is focused on the areas of informatics, programming, information systems and software engineering. The graduate has high-quality knowledge of modern information technologies and systems, such as development environments for programmers, web applications or database servers, and learns how to participate in the development of these technologies and systems and to apply these technologies and systems. The graduate acquires algorithmic, analytical, creative and systemic thinking, and project team work and leadership skills, learns presentation and communication skills and masters English at the level of expert communication (in a six-semester course).
